Lea Pickard

Lea began practicing yoga over 15 years ago during graduate school to help relieve stress…and immediately fell in love! Having studied health in her academic career, she was amazed at the transformational ability of yoga on both body and mind.  Her practice developed over the years with a focus on the balance of strength and flexibility that comes from combining posture and breath, and an awareness of living in the present moment. With a desire to deepen her practice, she embarked on teacher training and earned her RYT-200 in 2012. Through this training she gained a love of the playfulness of yoga and it’s ability to bring true joy to people’s lives.

Lea’s classes combine her love of the benefits of yoga on the physical body with the ability to take powerful lessons off the mat and into the real world. Her instruction is designed to help people feel ease and comfort in their body in any type of posture. She loves to combine breath and movement to help students flow and release tension and stress—in particular in the neck, shoulders, and back.   Students inspire her to open her heart and mind every single day, which permeates into the themes she chooses to help focus her classes. These help students connect mind, body, and breath—all with a little laughter, fun, and theme-oriented, inspirational music.
